I have been struggling for
a long time and I know of two others that also have MCS/EI.
This is for real and yes, others have 'not a clue'. Even at times
when doing well, I do something stupid and cause an exposure because I
actually forget because this is an unnatural thing.
My husband was with me many years and at
times he questioned the reality. Because mine comes in ' waves ' sometimes
good, sometimes bad it is really hard to sometime convince others without
making a scene.
Many think that this has a psychological
connection and I agree... When you have a bad exposure you become
terrified and even paranoid to the point that every time you go out something
will be there to make you ill again.
People only see you run away or ' swoon
' as they once called it. They have not a clue to the pain, loss of memory,
the fear, the inability to concentrate or focus, the long recovery
time and 'lost time' and lack of family interaction while you are debilitated.
That of course does not include the lack
of spiritual association that is important to remain strong.
I wrote the WT Society, telling them of
my plight. They lovingly responded. I also wrote it with the local
brothers in view and gave a copy to them also. If I had a broken
leg, they would accommodate me, If I came on a gurney, they would
make place for me, If I would come in a wheelchair they would make ramps
for me. Just because none sees the 'injury' does not mean that it
does not exist.
The local brothers met and have arranged
a 'reasonable accommodation' for me. I call ahead so someone can
'air out' this area for me. Because I made them ' aware ' instead
of just staying away they have ' done what they could ' and said ' I want
to...'
It would be encouraging to correspond with
others who have MCS, because it helps to know that we are not just the
only ones. It also encourages us to 'hang in there...' Jehovah's
promise is close at hand..... Healthy life in a Paradise filled with
people who love Jehovah...forever.
Agape' love,
Mary Alice
